Being a mom is a big slice of humble pie, it is served often, and hot. It starts the second that squishy little baby is born, from the mesh panties, to the infant who changes their mind every other day on what works and what doesn’t. Just as frequently as we are served humble pie we get to ride the gravy train to… maybe I should stop talking about food...From the sweet smells, coos, and kisses, to the snuggles, along with the older kids who make our hearts burst with pride as they do something kind for another kid.
As my oldest has gone off to school… lets just say I was feeling pretty proud of myself today as I have been checking off boxes that haven’t been checked in awhile. Basic household duties that seemed impossible for the last year were getting done before 10 am. Lunches were made before she got off the bus. I have laundry folded and put away each night.
Then this afternoon just as I was sitting down to catch up on email and some office work all hell broke loose. The big kids wouldn’t stop fighting, the baby woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Lets just say I ate my words… words that honestly hadn’t even left my mouth. Lets not even discuss what the dinner scene looked like.
While I am clearly no pro...you can check out my stories for the disaster that was our afternoon. One of my goals here in these tiny squares has always been to provide support for other mamas to encourage you all and to offer some help in someway. That’s why I have decided to offer a weeks worth of easy weeknight dinners the infamous SHEET PAN, dinner. It doesn’t get better, one pan, an oven, and dinner is done, clean up is a breeze and they are tasty too! You can follow the link in my bio to cara’s corner to join the group or shoot me a message. #weeknightdinner #easy #theignitionmission #tempertantrum #reasonmykidiscrying #idontknow
