Barriers are opportunities to prove yourself 👊🏽 About a week and a half ago I messed my knee up BAD running. I knew training to run would be a risk with my history of knee problems but it was still something I wanted to push myself to do.

After waking up one day gimping it out I knew it was time to chill out! I’ve listened to my body and I can SLOWLY feel my knee getting back to “normal”. Today’s workout included Switch Jump Lunges and i was able to put the pressure on my knee to knock it out. Whenever I feel the pain I remind myself of the amazing things that my body is capable of.

This body has carried 3 babies.
Birthed 3 babies.
Breastfed 3 babies.
Gained weight.
Lost weight.

You can truly do anything that you put your mind to 🙌🏽 your brain is the strongest muscle that you have 😉 use it to fuel the rest of your body properly!

Gave Transform 20 Rip ‘N Cut 1.0 a try and like the combo of weights and cardio sooo much I also did Built Stronger 1.0❣️🤪 Today was a long eight hours of sitting on my butt during back to school training and I have to do it for six hours tomorrow😩#healthychoicesmatter💜 #beachbodycoach #oregonmomfitnessclub

Thank you soooooo much @feliciafitnesshealth for this 2 ingredient dough recipe! It was so extremely good! I put my own spin on it of course. Y'all, this pizza is a single serving size! What?! 😲
🍕 1/2 cup of self rising flour
🍕 1/2 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt (Fage 0%)
🍕 a couple of dashes of @flavorgod Pizza seasoning into the dough mix
🍕 lowfat mozzarella cheese
🍕 Grandma's Tomato sauce (@portionfix Fixate recipe)
🍕 pepperoni 
Preheat oven to 400° while you prepare dough. Mix flour and yogurt together in a bowl until it becomes dough consistency. Add a few dashes of Pizza seasoning. Roll out onto a pizza pan. Spread sauce, then sprinkle cheese. Top with pepperoni then place in the oven for 13-15 minutes depending on how crispy you like it (I did 14 minutes). Bon appetit! 🍕

#day18 I didn’t do my workout today because we spent the whole day at #KnottsBerryFarm!! My sweet niece sprained her ankle last week so she was in the wheel chair. My sis and I took turns pushing her and my nephew in his stroller. It was a great workout, so I’m calling it a #win for today (I’ll add day 18 workout to the end of the program)

Here’s another thing, there was a time when that used to be Mein the wheelchair any time we went to an amusement park. My back just could not hold up. The pain would be so bad! I walked all day today and I’m only in a little more #pain than usual. Praise God! He is so good to sustain me and strengthen me! 
Food-wise I did really well too! We packed lunch to eat there and I brought egg salad, cantaloupe and roasted carrots. For snack I brought some SunChips, pepitas and an apple saucecup. We went to Rubio’s for dinner and I had two grilled gourmet tacos, which are not on plan, but I didn’t add any extra chipotle white sauce- the best sauce ever- mayo based and spicy and high calorie. Yum! Lol. So that’s a win too!! Now it’s time for sleeeeeeeep!

If you had told me 5 months ago that I would be doing burpees, mountain climbers, or surrenders, I would have gotten a great ab workout laughing in your face! If you had told me 5 months ago that I would be doing a 90-day weight lifting program called Body Beast with a hulk-like trainer on my TV, I would have said, Never gonna happen.

The trouble with these marketing ploys to get people to sign up for these fitness crazes is that they don't actually work, right?! Too good to be true. Infomercial? Might as well be regarded as a gimmick from the get-go.

But I had tried so many things and failed that I finally decided to try something that my friend, Hillary, was selling: a dream of being fit. I'm so glad that I took a chance! My only regret is that I didn't start in January when she first started posting about her journey on FB! I could be even farther along on my fitness journey! Time will keep on marching on whether you make a move toward your fitness journey or not. I want to help you find your best self! Whether you need to lose some baby weight (like me), you're a little fluffy (like me), you want to get muscle definition (like me), or you just need a kick in the rear (like me), I'm your coach! Workout 26... What can I say about workout 26?

Well, it’s the first workout of this program that I thought, “oh my gosh I can’t do anymore” during.

It’s not the first that I’ve had to pause and rewind to give myself a breather, but it’s the one I’ve had to do it the most.

It’s the only workout in the past 7 months that I thought, “I’m failing.” It was only 20 minutes of cardio. And yet, it made me pause like in this video, again and again.

20 minutes? Seriously, Kayli? You’re getting that tired from 20 minutes? Where did all your stamina from being able to workout for an hour and a half, 2-3 workouts one right after the other?? It wasn’t that long ago, this should be nothing! You have to pause AGAIN!? Why are you struggling so hard in this? This shouldn’t be that hard for you!

Those were just some of the thoughts going through my head while I was doing the first block of exercises. I wasn’t even halfway through it when all those negative emotions and self-talk was happening.

That moment in the video when I stop to take a breath, it wasn’t just a breath for me. It was cleansing my lungs, but it was also cleansing my mind. 
In the next jumps that followed, I forced myself to think positive things until I believe them.

You’ve got this. It’s just one jump at a time. You’re already halfway there, you can make it the rest of the way! You’re not a quitter and you can do hard things. Just because this is hard, doesn’t mean you’re failing. You’re capable of more than you think. You’re being too hard on yourself.

That last one is what got me into a groove for the rest of the time.

I WAS being hard on myself. 
And for NO REASON.

I had gotten up at 5 AM.
I was moving my body, doing something AMAZING for it.
I was learning the moves for the first time.
I was pushing as hard as I was capable of doing for today.

We get so caught up in what we think we SHOULD be able to handle in our lives and forget to notice all of the incredible things we ARE doing everyday. 
Be kind to yourself.

I talk a lot about this program and how much I love it, but I realized today that I haven’t shared a whole lot about my results! 
That’s probably because my results are not the jaw dropping weight loss like so many of my teammates (they have truly incredible results)! My biggest changes are internal! 
Being born with hip displacia that went undetected, surgery at a young age (including a body cast), then putting my body through the stress of being an athlete in school, then fast forward to the stress of carrying twins... let’s be real, my hips are arthritic at best. 
I wasn’t able to wear heels without being in an immense amount of pain, long walks or incline would cause pain, running = impact = pain. The strength & flexibility I’ve gained have dramatically decreased, and on most occasions, eliminated the pain in my hips. 
I haven’t been able to touch my toes in years. My back no longer hurts when I wake up in the morning. Greater range of motion, improved posture, ... I could go on and on and this is strictly the results from the workouts themselves! 
The nutrition has its own set of awesome results including increased energy, less mood swings, & improved digestive health! 
Sometimes we get so used to our day to day ailments, that we don’t realize that our quality of life needs improving! 
If you could live a day without pain, stress, or fatigue, wouldn’t you!? You can! 
Objects in motion stay in motion, right!? I, for one, refuse to stop moving, I refuse to let arthritis dictate my day. 
What’s in control of your day that doesn’t need to be? 
Make the change. You owe it to yourself.

Are you another victim to the happiness trap??

Lately I haven’t been feeling as happy as I normally do. I’m not really sure why. Ive been fighting to hold it together for the last few now & today, it finally came crashing down.
I left work early because I realized my mental health needed a little TLC.
So I came home, cuddled my fur babies had a nap because this wave of fatigue cane over me (I guess fighting to keep it together gets exhausting), talked to myself $ reflected. I asked myself what’s going on & was trying to find something that could be causing this, that’s when it clicked.
This feeling is 2 fold:
The past 4 days I haven’t been taking care of myself the way I usually do. For me fitness is much more than physical, it’s for my mental health as well & when I miss workouts, my psyche is the first to notice. I’ve also been pouring so much into the systems I’m building for my virtual health club and coach trainings that I have lost touch with my sense of fulfillment. Because for me, my sense of fulfillment comes from helping others & that hasn’t been my sole focus with my biz these last days. And lastly I realized, it’s ok to feel this way.
You see, we don’t go through sad feelings to GET to happiness, happiness is just another one of the many emotions we as human beings feel. It’s because it feels good that we want it all the time, like a drug. But life isn’t so linear & neither are our emotions. Life is made up of mountains & valleys & neither is better or worse than the other.
So my point is, if you’re going through a time that doesn’t feel as good as you’d like it to, just remember, like happiness, this too shall pass. The key is to get real with yourself & check in to see if you’ve been neglecting the things that fuel your soul, then recognize how you’re feeling & don’t allow yourself to stay hostage to it. Just like we shouldn’t feel hostage to happiness, because that too is a heavy burden to carry when you really need to unravel.
