Well i pushed my workout alot harder today. I upped sets and reps i need to build more muscle then ill lean out later. Today was #legandabsday the cool thing was when i had finished my sets on the leg press maching i actually felt my legs swell and get tighter it felt so good to know im working at something i can feel change. Im #down10lbs its been 3 weeks since I've weighed myself it feels amazing that what im doing is working. Im not stressing about the small stuff and even my residents are telling me im glowing lately. #Imsohappy #thestartofanewjourney #buildmusclelosefat #lifestylechanges #betteringmyselfmyownway

TONE vs BUILD MUSCLE⁣

Ladies I love y’all. Seriously, women make this world a better place, in fact a large part of #teamstaydecided are women. But we need to line out some myths about being “tone” and building muscle.⁣
⁣
See toning usually brings images of a slender body type with lower body fat and some visible muscle, but not huge. Whereas “building muscle” probably pops a bodybuilder into your mental image with bulging biceps.⁣
⁣
The short answer is, the terms mean the same thing. When we train heavy to build muscle (often confused with “bulking”), what we really do is STRENGTHEN the muscle. This leads to to a higher metabolism and more fat burned overall. This is why going heavy for 8-12 reps is ideal in building a bigger “engine” to burn calories.⁣

What we are actually doing is just defining the muscle we already have! Kind of like trimming the bushes around a house to expose the beauty of it. You would have to eat double your current calories to “bulk up” in anyway to begin with. At the end of the day, we need strong women inside and out!

💜It’s okay to ask for help💜
If you are confused by something in the gym, or about nutrition. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. We all start somewhere and most people you see in the gym would not only help but probably be super nice about it. I know if anyone ever asked me for advice not only would I help them out I would be thrilled to do it because I’m so passionate about fitness. Most people you see in the gym often are the same way, and if someone is rude to you about it they have their own problems to work through. I’ve never had a bad experience at the gym and I would encourage you to talk to people and make some friends! I know it can be scary but you never know what might happen if you put yourself out there!

@naiqamapt Our 6 week clients are starting to finish up and have loved seeing not just the physical changes but the mental changes too 💪🏋️‍♀️

Elle had started this 6 weeks with a good base of strength and fitness, she wanted to Improve her strength and Increasing her muscle mass
.
6 weeks in general is not long to expect massive changes in muscle size and density BUT Elle healthily maintained her starting weight (the scales did NOT change) whilst: 
1. dropping her body fat % by 2.1%. 2. Adding 1kg of lean body mass and losing 1 kg of fat mass 
3. 2cm off her waist 
4. 4cm off her hips
.
- This is a great example of why progress shouldn't be measured from one source of data such as scales especially if your goals are strength and increased muscle mass 🧠 .
All her major lifts- bench press, deadlift, squat increased by 5kg-20kg for her 5 Rep max
.
