🌀MONDAY MOTIVATION 🌀
Today I was organizing my past content to clear up some space on my phone, and I bumped into a ton of selfies of my haircut back in February. It's incredible to see the amount of growth in such little time. What's funny is, I had absolutely no intention of cutting as much hair as I did at my last hair cut. My hairstylist was just trimming my ends (because I loved my length) and I just saw healthy curls being weighed down by dead, damaged hair.
A lot of you who have been following me from the start keep telling me that I could've probably brought the entire curl pattern back, but it was too far gone honestly. Nothing is more frustrating than having more than half your hair be healthy, and have burnt dead strands hold you back. Trust me, I didn't want to have short hair again- BUT, I knew that health will always outweigh length. I'd 100% much rather have a short little fro of healthy happy curls than love stringy curls.
Moral of my little story is, for those who are holding on to that heat damage: LET IT GO. Hair grows back. It's a weird shock at first, but I remember telling myself, "if I care for it as I have been, it'll be longer by the summer." That's exactly what happened, and that was the best decision I made thus far in my natural hair journey (aside from creating this page of course 😜)
That heat damage is only holding you back from truly flourishing- let it go sis!
