Whenever a client has a muscular imbalance, I always incorporate unilateral exercises. This allows the limbs to work independently and to their own ability without the stronger side dominating. I would always start with the weaker side first and use the same load for both sides. Over time the weaker side should catch up. While you could add additional volume to the weak side, from experience I’ve found this often isn’t necessary. .

With the Quads, I use numerous exercises from machines, to lunges, to step ups, to sleds. However, if I had to pick just four I would typically start with these. While they differ in style, they’re all great exercises and their strategic integration should decrease an imbalance. .
.
If structural balance is the primary goal, I’ll typically incorporate lots of Split Squats. It’s an athletic movement which requires coordination, mobility and stability. It looks like an innocent movement but if you do it correctly and with effort it can be brutal. While it allows the legs to train more independently, in reality it’s not in true isolation. The back leg still contributes somewhat and considerable balance and coordination is required. The more the back leg bends, the more it usually contributes. .

If I want to really isolate one Quad and push Hypertrophy, I’ll also integrate additional unilateral machine work. Here true isolation is able to be achieved and balance issues are negated. These machine based movements would typically fit towards the back end of your session as it’s less technical (C series). Conversely, I typically use Split Squats more as an A or B series. .

✨Morning Routine

_ ✨Im sure its pretty obvious by now I’m pretty obsessed with morning routines, habits and finding techniques resources and adopting ways that help create the most successful version of yourself that’s able and in a mental position to really show up positively for yourself and the life you want. -

For the past 10 years ive had the same morning routine and depending on what my goals are for the year, or that particular time Ill incorporate other things into the routine when needed. 
_ ✨Ill share my routine as it is today below.

_ ✅Wake up 5am-5.40am
✅Shower
✅Drink 1ltr water
Gym:
✅30mins Interval sprints
✅30mins Upper/Lower body split
✅Combined with 1 hr Self Development Audio. -

Note: I do not check my phone until I’m in the car waiting for it to warm up. At least 30mins after waking up. 
_ ✨From my personal experience what ive found to be extremely powerful and crucial in properly executing with the energy and focus mindset is that your morning routine actually starts the night before when going to bed.

_ ✨What I mean by this is preparing yourself for the morning the night before and actually running through in your head how your going to wake up, how your going to feel how your going to carry out the routine and the way your going to be in the process of it all. 
_ ✨Preparing your clothes and things that your needing for the morning so your not waking up scrambling around then find yourself coming up with excuses as to why your not able to do something. Preparing yourself so that your not rushing around which then usually starts to spiral out for the rest of your day.

_ ✨But seriously though owning your morning is owning your day and owning your life.
