I couldn't decide yesterday if my right hamstring was just really tight or actually slightly injured... this solved the riddle for me 🤔🤦

Solid workout, considering I hate doing loads of crunch type ab exercises. But hoooo-eee! As soon as I started the cool down and went to stretch my right hamstring, it did NOT feel good. Not to self: deadlifts, even at light weights, should never be done without a proper warmup. That's a fool me/shame on me kind of situation there.

Anyhow, it's not even seven yet and I already knocked this workout it of the way! Now to eat something small (even though I'm mad hungry now) because I'm getting brunch with my favorite aunt 🤗❤️ and then we're helping my dad buy new tires for his 🚙 (definitely won't actually help, we'll just annoy him 🤣).

I have done a really shitty job at setting boundaries the last few years. I have overworked myself mentally, physically, emotionally to a point where I am numb.⁣⁣

Some random personal thoughts this morning...⁣⁣

➳ 3 Cardinal Rules of Life:⁣⁣
1.) Don’t promise when you’re happy⁣⁣
2.) Don’t respond when you’re angry⁣⁣
3.) Don’t decide when you’re sad⁣⁣
Emotions change. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
➳ Slow down & smile. It can wait. ⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
➳ Comparison & ego will trash any positive goal you’re chasing. Choke on a piece of that humble pie & sit down. ⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
➳ My cat (Pete) trashes my apartment because I don’t been paying attention to him. I call him some choice words 😂 but realize this is a reflection of how I treat him. No one deserves to be treated like they’re insignificant. ⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
➳ We numb with drinking, food, caffeine, overspending, sex, exercising, etc...we all have vices. If you’re numbing more, you have inner work to do. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
➳ You don’t reach destination happy, happy is a state of being. The journey is the destination. ⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
➳ You’re only a failure if you fail to learn the lesson. ⁣⁣
⠀⠀⁣⁣
➳ Eat the fucking cake, wear the damn bathing suit, drink the cocktail, say no to shit that doesn’t serve you, don’t apologize for being human. ⁣⁣

One day a girl I was following, a complete stranger to me, offered me her hand..⁣⁣
I didn’t know who she was, but she happened to post on the right day, at the right moment, where I was so desperate for help..⁣⁣

I was craving for a change, and I was tired of feeling so defeated.. I took her hand, with all my fears, with her belief in me, and said yes to life..⁣⁣

I overcame so much, just in that one moment..⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Since then, I have traveled farther than I ever thought, ran more races I never thought I could, dreamed bigger than I ever imagined, and found hope, when I thought all was lost..⁣⁣

It wasn’t just one thing..⁣⁣
And I didn’t have all the answers..⁣⁣
I had no clue where it would take me..⁣⁣
Or if in fact, if it was the best thing for me..⁣⁣

But dang - look where I am now..⁣⁣
So beyond thankful I said yes it her EVERY SINGLE DAY..⁣⁣

When will your turning moment be?⁣⁣

Stop letting excuses, your past, current situation define you - because YES you can..⁣⁣

Know you have options and you have me fighting for you - there is no one right way - there is YOU making one decision, that could change your life forever..⁣⁣

Dusted the heels off... after I remembered them on the way to the gym and had to turn around to get them 🤦🏼‍♀️ Going to use them for this entire block and decide if the switch is permanent.

I went to the gym yesterday to try a light workout and cardio, and I failed miserably 🙃🙄 if you saw my previous post, my doctor said it was okay for me to go back on Monday if I felt up to it, did extremely light movements so I didn’t sweat too much and listened to my body. I made it through my normal stretch warmup, with some modifications since I still can’t really bend my back completely without stretching my incision. I then decided to try a slow speed on the stairmaster. I didn’t even make it 10 minutes before I stopped because I could feel my lower back sweating a lot and I was so paranoid that I was going to sweat my stitches tape off 😅 I then tried a few arm exercises and only made it through one exercise before I decided I just wasn’t ready. It wasn’t that I necessarily felt that I couldn’t do it physically but mentally it was just not going to be a good workout even if I finished it because I was so worried and on edge the entire time. As much as I want to get back to the gym and weights, I also don’t want to mess up my back and risk something that ends up prolonging my recovery and the time that I’m out of a commission. Today I’ll probably just go on a light walk around the neighborhood to get my body moving and then try to focus more on the nutrition side of things. Just a reminder that it’s so important to listen to your body! 💚💚

I went to the gym yesterday to try a light workout and cardio, and I failed miserably 🙃🙄 if you saw my previous post, my doctor said it was okay for me to go back on Monday if I felt up to it, did extremely light movements so I didn’t sweat too much and listened to my body. I made it through my normal stretch warmup, with some modifications since I still can’t really bend my back completely without stretching my incision. I then decided to try a slow speed on the stairmaster. I didn’t even make it 10 minutes before I stopped because I could feel my lower back sweating a lot and I was so paranoid that I was going to sweat my stitches tape off 😅 I then tried a few arm exercises and only made it through one exercise before I decided I just wasn’t ready. It wasn’t that I necessarily felt that I couldn’t do it physically but mentally it was just not going to be a good workout even if I finished it because I was so worried and on edge the entire time. As much as I want to get back to the gym and weights, I also don’t want to mess up my back and risk something that ends up prolonging my recovery and the time that I’m out of a commission. Today I’ll probably just go on a light walk around the neighborhood to get my body moving and then try to focus more on the nutrition side of things. Just a reminder that it’s so important to listen to your body! 💚💚

You liars. Where’s that “SnapBack?” The one all the famous girls have? You know... where they’re in a bikini in the Bahamas with abs 48 hours after having a baby? This is what it takes for me to actually GET to the gym each morning. I’m extremely lucky. I go to an amazing gym with incredible childcare employees who love on my drama baby as much as I do. The workouts are frenetic these days and I’m trying to account for that fact by incorporating quick bursts of cardio, then lifting on repeat bc at any point the kid could lose it or I’d get called to change a diaper or feed her and game = over.
