TROPICS BOWLS! 🌴🥥 The best way to get to the tropics is by eating it! 👊🏽 ;) What’s your favorite fruit or the one you couldn’t live without? 🍉🍌Mine are longan, apples and mangos but probably couldn’t live without bananas! Bananas are the best base for creamy smoothies and smoothie bowls but if you’re not a banana lover, freeze coconut or almond milk into ice cubes for a similar affect!

To make these bowls at home:
 1 cup frozen mango 
2 frozen banana 
1 cup frozen blueberries or Pitaya 
1/4-1/2 cup nut milk of choice 
Blend together and top with your favorite fresh fruit and in this case homemade granola! 
Im craving these so bad after a day of bad food choices and being sweaty hot from our day of travels! It’s amazing the difference food choices can make on your day eh? Feeling a bit bloat and blah which actually is a good reminder why it’s worth it to watch Food combining and uhh not eat chips all day long! Haha. Tomorrow, you’re a clean slate! Who needs a restart with moi?!

taking advantage of summer squash before they go out of season...aka the end of summer, something we’re absolutely NOT willing to accept right now! we’re cooking up another sheet pan recipe this week for today’s @mealprepmonday . green and yellow squash with asparagus seasoned with some salt, pepper, olive oil and minced garlic. we threw some @alfresco sweet italian chicken sausage to cut down on the fat and sodium that comes with typical sausage. the great thing about this meal is that you can get creative with your seasoning for the veggies and the type/flavoring of sausage you wanna use! feel free to also get some more use of that grill to cook all this up before summer’s over! ⁣

Pão de queijo light

Ingredientes:

170g de polvilho azedo

115g de polvilho doce

1 colher (chá) de sal (5g)

1 xícara (chá) de leite desnatado (240ml)

2 colheres (sopa) de margarina light (40g)

1 pote de Creme de Ricota Light Polenghi (150g)

4 a 5 colheres (sopa) de queijo parmesão ralado (40 ou 50g)

1 ovo (60g)

Modo de preparo:

Numa tigela, junte os polvilhos e o sal. Reserve. Leve ao fogo o leite e a margarina até ferver. Despeje a mistura fervente sobre os polvilhos reservados e misture com uma colher até o líquido ser totalmente absorvido.

Acrescente o Creme de Ricota Polenghi e o queijo parmesão. Trabalhe bem, inicialmente com uma colher e depois com as mãos, até obter uma massa lisa e homogênea. Espere esfriar completamente.

Junte o ovo e trabalhe a massa de maneira que o ovo fique bem envolvido e a massa solte das mãos. Porcione a massa (unidades com cerca de 1 colher sopa cheia). Unte as mãos com um pouco de óleo e modele a massa de maneira a formar bolinhas.

Distribua as bolinhas de pão de queijo numa assadeira untada, deixando cerca de 2cm entre elas. Leve ao forno médio (180ºC), preaquecido, por cerca de 30 minutos ou até a base começar a dourar. .

💥NO SOLO LAS CALORÍAS IMPORTAN💥

Siempre les he dicho que son muy importantes las calorías para el objetivo que tengas:
1️⃣¿Quieres perder grasa? Come menos calorías de las que gastas.
2️⃣¿Quieres mantener tu peso? Come las mismas calorías que gastas.
3️⃣¿Quieres desarrollar tu masa muscular? Come más calorías de las que gastas. 🔔Fíjense en el ejemplo:
50g de papas fritas te aportan 200kcal, poco poder de saciedad, mucha grasa y son hiperpalatables, por tal razón puedes comer mucho más de 50g FÁCILMENTE. En cambio para obtener 200kcal de melón debes comerte 540g 😱, además de que obtendrás vitaminas, minerales, fibra y mucha saciedad, lo cual es importante para perder grasa y combatir la ansiedad. ☝🏽En una dieta para perder grasa necesitas incorporar más frutas y vegetales, porque aportan muchos micronutrientes y su densidad calórica es baja, para alcanzar tu requerimiento calórico diario tendrías que comer muchísimo, en cambio con 200g de papas fritas ya tienes cubierta la mitad de tu requerimiento (en un caso hipotético general) y quedas con hambre, sin un aporte nutricional real 🙁

Aplica esto para tu vida: céntrate en comer, en su mayoría, alimentos densos en micronutrientes y deja esos snacks para ocasiones especiales, cuidando los excesos. No es necesario eliminar alimentos, busca el equilibrio y lograrás tener éxito.

En cambio para obtener 200kcal de melón debes comerte 540g 😱, además de que obtendrás vitaminas, minerales, fibra y mucha saciedad, lo cual es importante para perder grasa y combatir la ansiedad. ☝🏽En una dieta para perder grasa necesitas incorporar más frutas y vegetales, porque aportan muchos micronutrientes y su densidad calórica es baja, para alcanzar tu requerimiento calórico diario tendrías que comer muchísimo, en cambio con 200g de papas fritas ya tienes cubierta la mitad de tu requerimiento (en un caso hipotético general) y quedas con hambre, sin un aporte nutricional real 🙁

For the past 6 months, I have been working as a prep cook at a country club. Learning new knife skills in a fast-paced environment keeps me on my toes. It helps me improve my cooking speed and technique to be more of a professional chef. Honestly, since starting to cook for someone else, I lost a lot of my inspiration to cook for myself. I go out to eat more and it is greatly affecting my gut health. I am now taking responsibility for my health because the food you eat really does affect your mood. In order to ease my mind from negative thought patterns, eating at home keeps my cravings for carbs or sugar at bay.  I notice that when I eat sugar, I feel bloated and my mind begins racing with beliefs of “not good enough”. The less I eat sugar, the more energy I have to work towards my life goals. While at work, I was asked to make pico de gallo. I prepared some quinoa a few days prior and had some leftovers. I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it but didn’t want to throw it away. I never went grocery shopping and had some eggs in the fridge. A lightning bolt idea came through me, which this recipe became a reality. I love that I can eat something quick that’s easy to take with you anywhere. As a bonus, this meal provides leftovers, is easy to freeze, and keeps you full for hours. For someone 5’2, ~120 lbs, and is very active, 2 of these egg cups hits the sweet spot. Enjoy my delicious recipe below: 👇

Came home from my workout today needing all the food and needing it NOW so here was what I quickly whipped together in 3 minutes so I could start eating😋 Chocolate protein oatmeal and peach Greek yogurt that’s super easy, tasty, and high in protein💪🏼

• 72g carbs
• 55g protein
• 21g fat

Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup Quaker 1 minute oats
• 1 scoop Gold standard chocolate peanut butter whey protein isolate
• 1.5 tbsp Trader Joe’s unsalted peanut butter
• 1/2 banana
• 1 tbsp roasted cocoa nibs
• 6 oz Open Nature Greek nonfat strained yogurt
• 1 peach

How to make:
• boil 1 cup water on stove
• Add oats and stir occasionally for one minute
• Pour oatmeal in bowl and add protein powder and peanut butter and stir
• Top with banana and cocoa nibs
• Scoop yogurt in separate bowl and top with chopped up peach😋
