WARNING โš ๏ธ- not a bragging post but a grateful post! I have been keeping tabs on this heifer for a couple weeks knowing she was getting close, even moving her back to the house so she could be in the barn through the blizzard. Sunday I noticed she was acting differently. Later, when I checked her, I saw four legs in the air - very bad. I ran to find she somehow got stuck on her side. I attempted to push her over either direction with no luck. I then ran and grabbed a rope put one around her bottom back leg and one around her bottom front leg and then ran the rope around my back and just begin to backpedal. Slowly but surely I was able to pull her all the way over and she jumped up. I was so incredibly grateful she was ok. But my very next thought was I was so grateful to my friend @maryreichert.13 for getting me started lifting a year ago. A year ago I wouldโ€™ve never had the strength to do what I had just done. It is one thing to see gains in the gym, but to be able to do something outside of the gym I never thought I was capable of was pretty awesome!

Last week was not my week in terms of running. I started and stopped or just completely skipped some runs because my legs felt really heavy. Biggest pet peeves with dieting and training: 
1. people who tell you that you don't need to diet and train like you do because you're "skinny" already. I look like this because I do the right things for my body. I don't strive for skinny and the societal norms. I strive for strength and learning all that this body I've been given can do for me if I do the right things. 
2. people that resent you for putting in the hard work, dedication, and effort to train and eat properly. Again, I work hard to look how I look and am constantly striving to improve and become the best version of myself. To me it's not what the scale says, crash dieting, six pack abs, a tiny waist, etc. It's about improvements, running faster or further, increasing reps/velocity/weight when lifting, and my mental health. What these people don't understand is that we are all different and what works for one person doesn't work for the next. Resenting my effort won't help you on your journey, it will only hold you back. Instead, try learning about someone who has had success and either working with them or taking the best parts of their journey (as determined by you) and combining it with others' successes and what is best FOR YOU!

2๏ธโƒฃDips with added weight-3x10 (lol @ my face at the end, that was the cue for the hubby to take the weight off ๐Ÿ˜‚)
3๏ธโƒฃHip thrusts-3x10. Iโ€™ll definitely be doing these more frequently to build on them. One of my favorites!

There are those who wonder how you got to where you are now. 
The only thing I do for any goal I'm trying to reach is not give up! If you have a clear vision of what you want you will find a way to get there.  Sometimes one action plan may fail, but if you keep executing new ones you'll find you'll get there eventually. 
I'll give you two examples of goals I had. (Second one is in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Goal #1) I wanted to get in shape and be toned and maintain it.

Here's what happened: I tried a temporary dieting app, I tried different workout videos, I tried crash and detox diets, I tried going to the gym and just doing cardio, and all resulted in an up and down cycle of gaining and losing weight. I wasn't confident in the gym and I was uneducated about the effects of dieting. What finally worked for me was when I hired my trainer. I need someone to teach me the foundations of weight training, someone who could show me what I could do with the equipment given in any gym (mainly free weights and minimal machines). Hiring him also meant I hired accountability, I had made a commitment to myself to get stronger, and not necessarily focus on weight this time around. Then I progressed and began research on my own about weightlifting and the diet articles came along with it. I educated myself on the calories in vs out, on satiety, and on how to keep up my performance and energy when I was working out through diet. I also found things I enjoyed that were active outings along the way, and over the course of 2 years went down 6 sizes.  #keepreading #BakingGains
