Bought this flip up bubble shield for my Biltwell today. I’ve been riding every day, sometimes more than once, since I got my endorsement and new bike. Today, even though I’m not feeling well, I took a short ride just to get some time in and some fresh air. It was just long enough, though, to find the bottom of my tank (thankfully reserve worked and I was able to switch it over on the move) and I took a precious Monarch butterfly out with my face. If you’ve seen my helmet, you know that it’s a full and then add glasses - it doesn’t leave a lot of exposure but it’s enough. Trust me! That Monarch felt like a bullet, except that it splattered. I had to reach up and pick it off of my forehead because it was stuck in my helmet. So...goofy looking or not, I am wearing a bubble shield. This one comes with a flip piece so I won’t feel so claustrophobic when I need air and can’t get my helmet off fast enough. I dealt with that last night without the flip-up option.
My husband (who is also wanting a Triumph now 🤗) and I were pummeled by a death cloud of loose gravel that had been laid recently and that a dickhead semi driver thought it was cool to do 65 mph on. I’d imagine it feeling a lot like being shot with an automatic BB gun. My face was covered, his wasn’t. 😩 Looooong story short, wearing a shield is my jam. I don’t mind looking like the 70’s. Those were the good days, from what I hear. .
