The Iranian designer Sogand Nobahar is not just an artist, a designer, or an engineer; she is in fact the perfect mix of all three professions. Despite her strong interest and innate aptitude for artisan work and her natural inclination to design and paining, she decides to study mathematics, but, subsequently, specializes in Industrial Design in Tehran and completes her training in Design and Engineering in Italy where she now works. Based on a strong interdisciplinary education, she decides to set up “Nobahar Design” and not to identify herself with any particular area. Indeed, the word “Nobahar” literally mean “New Spring’ so it indicates rebirth, renewal, regrowth, the basis of the brand “Nobahar Design” whose products of design is planned striating from the concept that each idea is translated into an object that represents her. “Nobahar Design Milano” mean “mix and match”, the combination of tradition and innovation in terms of material, designs and concepts. A new way of seeing and perceiving things, of interacting with the world that surrounds us and build unique pieces, full od identity and meaning. On several occasions, her projects have received special mentions for innovative research and prizes for their design; they have been exhibited in jewelry galleries, and in professional trade fairs like the last edition of “HOMI” and “Palakiss Jewelry Design Area” where she also received a special mention by ADOR for her design innovations. The jewelry collection “My Little Persia” is an example of the practical “mix and match” application: it is a business idea, one collection, of one-of-a-kind pieces, which merge the conventional with the non-conventional, tradition with modernity, oriental craftsmanship with western technology and, finally, the past with the present, to keep the history alive adapting it to the present!
