Are you doing enough pulling exercises during your workouts?

A lot of people (mostly guys), tend to work the mirror muscles like chest and shoulders way too much. This exercise selection, plus daily activities like driving, sitting in front of a computer, and staring at your phone screen can cause some major internal rotation at the shoulder joint. Over time this may cause shoulder impingement, which could lead to decreased mobility and pain.

Doing different variations of rows can help your arms move and function like they should. Try a 2:1 ratio of pulling to pushing movements. In the long run, it will help you get stronger in movements like the bench press. With the increased strength and stability of your back muscles, you’ll have a better platform to push off.

My company has a movement called "Start Your Life". This group is for 18 to 35 years olds.

Giving the younger generations an option to be successful in a thriving business model is the vision of Eric Coover, our founders son.

Having the ability to work from anywhere you want and build a global business with a potential income that rivals, and surpasses, most traditional jobs........ yes please!

Sydney is a great example of this movement!  She was going to school to be a PE Teacher and doing some Online Personal Training.  She knew that her income would be capped and she would be trading time for money.  Once she learned of our business model, she was all in.  She moved to San Diego and got to work.  In just 2 years, she now supports herself in San Diego and is building that global business I spoke of above.  She just spoke on stage at our companies largest event of the year and killed it!

Remember back in math class when you thought to yourself that this is pointless and your never going to use the this in real life?

Me too, and honestly unless your a math teacher you probably still feel that way
.
But remember that acronym “PEMDAS” for the order of operations?
.
Well our body works much the same way... and if certain things aren’t done in a certain order we’re simply not going to get the results we want
.
Look at your fitness goals, it doesn’t matter if you want to lose fat or build muscle, the most effective method to reach either will be the use of resistance training. And during that training we are effectively breaking down muscle fiber and burning off stored energy, also know as glycogen (carbs!). It’s the repair and recovery of this damaged muscle that burns calories AWAY from the gym and powers our results
.
But here’s were “PEMDAS” comes into play, like myself once upon a time, many people ignore a biological necessity of the body to replace those carbs we’ve utilized during the workout. So it’s not until those are replaced that the actual recovery process will begin as it’s those carbs that signal the body to start building & repairing muscle which by default starts burning fat
.
Now here’s the X factor, speed. The Faster we can start that recovery process, the better our results will be and thankfully We can influence speed simply by taking in a fast digesting carb along side a fast digesting protein immediately after our resistance training to maximize both the workout itself and recovery period
.
So no matter what your fitness goal is, our bodies are simply designed to do certain things and you can either attempt to trick it and fail or give it what it needs and optimize results

He told me him and his wife are  building the Isagenix business helping many former pro athletes take back their health. He was super nice and chatted for a while. Just a little late night EMOM circuit from last night!

You probably can’t tell, but I’ve moved to a new Gold’s Gym location!

I’m loving that the new one has an expanded floor area for KB/DB and medicine ball work. It made my EMOM work go a little smoother!

5 Rounds of 15 reps
1. Leg Lifts 
2. Push ups
3. Ball Slams
4. Stationary bike 12 calories (not pictured)
5. Kettlebell Cleans (KBs are new for me, but loving them)
6. Spot Hops

Remember with EMOM you have a minute per exercise to get the reps/cals finished.

So go hard! My HR was definitely stayed elevated!

I have seen this add pop up a few times on my feed. 
Starting your own supplement line for $795!  Don't get me wrong, I love the entrepreneurial spirit, but this is slapping different labels on all the same crap. 
My company spends millions upon millions of dollars on quality control, medical trials, 3rd party testing, etc. 
If you take the time to look at most supplements out there, they have artificial ingredients and fillers.  It is always ironic to be taking something for health reasons, but it has a bunch of crap in it. 
If you are buying your supplements at Costco or your gym, or online, give me the opportunity to share something that is better quality, better for you, and comes with a business opportunity.

Just for arguments sake, let's say the quality of the products are the same.  Would you rather purchase from someone else, or from yourself and have the opportunity to earn an uncapped income? 
I would love to talk with any of my friends out there buying supplements and help them make a change.

Back at it going 140 lbs for 5 reps grinding back to my former strength

First day at a new job, first date, first day at school, first time parent, first time driving... do I need to go on?

What happens.. you keep showing up. Learning. Developing new habits, skills, experiences... you get better.. what was once a challenge, becomes easier you may even become good at it

Why do you treat the gym, your health, fitness like an insurmountable challenge? It takes constant attention but compared to those other things it’s a small percentage of your day, week, life.. and if you make it a priority, a part of a lifestyle it takes even less thought

Biggest thing to fear is being a better version of yourself. A more disciplined, more confident, healthier version of yourself...

1. Too many drinks with calories like Gatorade, juice, milk, alcohol, and soda. Lots of extra calories that don’t help keep you full. 
2. Too much condiment use. Ketchup, ranch, BBQ sauce all have calories, so if you use a heavy hand when pouring it can get to be too much in a hurry.
3. Little nibbles throughout the day that you forget about. Finishing your partner or child’s food, eating a couple cookies at work, or snacking on too many appetizers before dinner all add up!
