I’ve been really lucky my whole life. I’ve had a massive group of people that I could count on and have helped me. I’ve never had to do anything truly on my own. Even if it was just pissing me off so I got fired up and did something to prove someone wrong, someone’s always been there.

In our family we would always call a loaded down homemade sub Dad’s famous sandwich. I’m trying to skip the Dad bod so I kept mine keto today. Have you ever heard someone say that eating healthy is expensive?

Well we went out to the @longislandaquarium for some family time the other day and did you know the cheapest thing on the menu was a $4.50 slice of pizza (and while this might be NY, it’s certainly not what you think of when we talk about #nypizza) ..and I can’t event tell you the price of a healthy menu option... because I couldn’t find one, 🤷🏻‍♂️

2 protein shakes at $1.67 each, a protein bar at $2.50 and an apple that might of been .50 cents.. so for a little more than $6 I actually got the macro equivalent of 2 solid meals... and you can swap out other fruit, yogurt, nuts or seeds to fit your personal dietary goals

But Chris, shouldn’t you be having whole food first?
YES, But I’m not going to choose shitty, fried “whole food” and YES I could’ve made a salad, a wrap, or do what I often do at work...just eat my food cold. BUT, I didn’t know where I’d be, what I’d be doing when I got hungry. So by planing ahead I was prepared for the worst case, so if I was sitting in my car in traffic.. no problem!

I don’t know, doesn’t seem very sustainable, have to live a little, ya know?
Why? I’ve been doing this for over two years.. has been pretty damn sustainable so far. I’m also not asking anyone else to do what I do, I’m telling you that you always have the ability to make a better decision. There’s a great deal of people that value the people & atmosphere more than the food that their shoving in their mouth. Truth is your just not willing to be disciplined enough to stay away from the crap..

Plan for the worst, use the resources that are available to you, find balance, and be willing to sacrifice a little bit of momentary satisfaction of taste for long term satisfaction of feeling good all the time and you’ll have a lot less questions and a lot more progress

First pic was taken in 2015 when I swore into the Corps. I just graduated high school and was maybe 115lbs of just skin and bones. I was a nasty little thing.. 🤢I couldn’t even fill out a small shirt. Plus I needed a weight waiver just to ship to boot camp 🙃.

The second pic y’all may have seen on my story already but I wanted to put it next to the old one to compare. I am around 163-165lbs today and stronger and faster than I was back then. .
What I’m trying to get at here is a lot of people get discouraged when they go to the gym. “Fuck this I’ve been working out for a month now and I’ve only lost 1 pound”. It’s a common thing and I’ve seen it a lot throughout the years. “Consistency is key” 🔑 Everybody says it cuz everybody knows it. But not everybody wants to do it. .
.
I am far from being exactly where I wanna be. There are days when I can’t keep up with my meals..I don’t sleep enough.. I drink... the list goes on. .
.
BUT...when it’s time to train I bust my ass and go balls to the fucking walls. There’s no way around it. I didn’t get to where I am today by skipping leg day or cardio or whatever mainstream “fitness bros” do. I still got a long way to go but it’s nice just looking back and seeing how far you’ve come and knowing that it’s paying off 😁.

The second pic y’all may have seen on my story already but I wanted to put it next to the old one to compare. I am around 163-165lbs today and stronger and faster than I was back then. .
What I’m trying to get at here is a lot of people get discouraged when they go to the gym. “Fuck this I’ve been working out for a month now and I’ve only lost 1 pound”. It’s a common thing and I’ve seen it a lot throughout the years. “Consistency is key” 🔑 Everybody says it cuz everybody knows it. But not everybody wants to do it. .
.
I am far from being exactly where I wanna be. There are days when I can’t keep up with my meals..I don’t sleep enough.. I drink... the list goes on. .
.
BUT...when it’s time to train I bust my ass and go balls to the fucking walls. There’s no way around it. I didn’t get to where I am today by skipping leg day or cardio or whatever mainstream “fitness bros” do. I still got a long way to go but it’s nice just looking back and seeing how far you’ve come and knowing that it’s paying off 😁.
