This blonde screams buttercream frosting to me, and now I want a cupcake. (Let’s be honest when does Maddie not want a cupcake). I’ve really been enjoying creating these more reflective colors lately. Any one that’s worked along side me in the salon knows my signature ShadesEQ formula, (T, V, P). I hadn’t branched out much from the typical grey, violet/blue formulation. But recently I came across a post from another stylist stating that she included a small drop of 6R into her blonde formula similar to my go to. Truthfully, I was dumbfounded. Red?! In a BLONDE formula? Wtf? Never would I dare. But then I got to thinking.... so let’s break it down. .
.
.

Red❤️ is a primary color right? You can’t mix anything to create red. But what mixed with red creates the cool tone I am trying to achieve? BLUE! So ❤️+💙=💜 VIOLET! The color usually added to counteract the “yellow” in blonde. So with this blonde, I wanted to create something reflective. Warmth will reflect light better than cool tones (remember how I said ash appears darker). So by adding the red into my already “blue” based formula, the red won’t show up necessarily as bright red, it will just counteract the harshness of the ash pigment to still allow the hair to become reflective, and light will bounce off of it. Now why would I use a level 6R? When used in moderation (half a capful) the level 6 allows you to channel deeper, richer pigment, because in ShadesEQ, the darker the level, the stronger the pigment. .

Having trouble formulating for your SOLUTION? Go back to basics when you’re struggling. It’s all very simple if you think about it. It’s just the law of color. What counteracts what? What added to what creates the outcome you’re desiring? Stay educated!

She took home @tigicopyright colour shampoo @pureology Hydrate conditioner @tigicopyright custom care repair booster. Fun fact** In the repair booster there is 7 days worth of keratin. Lastly she took home the @pureology 21 spray! All amazing products to go along side her amazing color. -
-
Melody made her next appointment 8 weeks out to keep her roots refreshed!

Ashley has been my client for over a year and she came in with level 3 hair. She is living proof that you can not be a level 10 over night.

We did some babylight through her roots to give her more of a blended look. I did a level 6 root smudge and on her ends I used 7T, 9NB

She goes about 8 weeks between her appointments. One time we will touch up her blonde and toner and the next we will do a haircut and a toner. I suggest doing a toner about every 4 weeks to keep her blondes looking fresh. REMINDER *DEEP CONDITIONERS ARE $15 till the end of the month!!!!
