I'm not dead, guys! I just took a short step away from social media, I think I just needed a bit of a break to balance myself out.
That said, I've still been busy working on knives! So happy to have this takedown Quillion Dagger finished, and finally for sale (DM for price and details!) it was a joy to work on while I was at @jonas_blade lovely shop in New England while I was there for the @newenglandschoolofmetalwork hammer-in. Massive thanks to Zack for the EXTREME generosity, and teaching me how to make my very first takedown knife. Another huge thank you to @jasonmorrissey for allowing me to stay there as well, can't wait to finish up the collaborative projects we have in the works 😁
Blade on this dagger 1075 with a a subtle but ultra sick auto hamon, heat treated in Zack's high temp salts. Fittings are blued 1045 with sterling silver spacers, and stabilized black curly maple that was generously given to me by @kota_knives. We custom machined the pommel nut with a triangular pattern spanner with a corresponding spanner wrench that we also made custom for this dagger. Like I said, this is my first ever takedown, and as such it has my name and the date it was finished engraved on the tang, something I hope to keep doing on future takedown pieces.
I promise I'll be posting more in the near future, so keep your eyes open for more content!
