The triceps, or more technically, the triceps brachii, is a three-headed muscle on the back of your arm, hence the name. A muscle head is a point where a tendon attaches to the skeleton. The triceps attaches to the upper arm and shoulder joint in three places, so it has three heads. The Lateral head and the Medial head originate on the back of the humerus. However, the Long Head originates on the scapula just below the shoulder socket. .

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. The boys are BACK!!! I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted anything. But to those who stuck around. Thankyou!! I’ve been super busy with life but the gains have forsaken me. But no longer. Huge tricep workout and recently started incoporating more weighted tricep dips and that was amazing and really added that pump and help define the triceps more. Definitely recommend everyone to try doing more body weight exercise!!! •

1️⃣Overhead Press 4 sets/6 reps⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Drive head thru & look straight when you go up. Make sure to not use your back & focus mostly on pushing with your shoulders. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
2️⃣Dips 5 sets/5 reps ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
Lean slightly forward & go down until your arms are about at a 90 degree angle. Breathe in when you go down and breathe out when you’re going up. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
3️⃣Bench Press 4 sets/6 reps⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
Keep your feet planted to the floor(some people put their legs on top of the bench too. Whatever works!) & make sure you arch your back slightly to feel it more in your chest. ⁣⁣
4️⃣Tricep Pushdown Superset w/ Lateral Raises 3 sets/10 reps⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
5️⃣Overhead Tricep Extension 3 sets/ 8 reps⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Benefits of Dips. 	1️⃣	It’s a Closed Kinetic Chain (CKC) Exercise. A CKC exercise involves moving your body while your hands (or feet) are in a fixed position. Dips are one of the few upper body CKC exercises. As a CKC exercise, dips simultaneously work opposing muscle groups while lifting and lowering. •	Related: Pull ups are another great upper body CKC exercise, which emphasizes the back.
	2️⃣Add Unlimited Weight. Dips are a challenging exercise by themselves. But you will outgrow bodyweight dips in no time, which brings me to my point: It’s so simple to add weight to your body.
	3️⃣Build Upper Body Mass. Since you are able to continually add pounds to your dip strength, you’re able to continually overload your muscles. And if you are progressively overloading your muscles with more weight and eating a sound bodybuilding diet, you are guaranteed to build muscle mass.
	4️⃣Superior to Push Ups. The push up is a great bodyweight exercise. And it is the most similar CKC exercise to dips. However, you are able to lift your entire bodyweight with dips (and then some, if you add weight). You only lift a fraction of your bodyweight with push ups. And while it’s possible to do weighted push ups, it’s not always practical.
	5️⃣Improve Your Lockout Strength. A dip repetition isn’t complete until your elbows lockout. Sometimes those final few inches are the most difficult part of the range of motion. I’ve been focusing on hitting my triceps and shoulders a lot harder and mixing it up with workouts, intensity and weight to shock the muscles. My goals is to grow both my shoulders and get a more rounded look as well as to grow my triceps because they do make up a major part of the arm and I’ve always mistreated them. It’s important to hit these smaller muscles 2-3x a week. This is a smaller routine @_sherring_ threw together that I tried out and it felt good mixing it up. Those single arm triceps really get a good pump!

In the coming weeks I’m going to start posting every Sunday, doing more collabs and different types of videos. Right now I’m in week two of my cut and have lost 4 lbs (178) and the goal is to cut until late September.

When I train arms it’s imperative that I start with some form of cable pushdowns or cable extension to get the blood flowing around my elbow joint. Hopping right into free weight press like dumbbell tricep extensions creates a lot of tension around my elbow joint when I haven’t properly warmed up. When I train I’m looking for longevity within my training and properly warming up before using heavy free weights is ESSENTIAL to the joints surrounding certain muscle groups!
