From a bit BRASSY to totally CLASSY... For Hair Painting we take it low and slow. Why? The better the hair’s condition when it’s said and done, the better the tone will look. Even if the end result is still golden it will be softer when traveling there with a less aggressive product. I used to use 40 vol in my lightener to paint and I always had to fight warmth so aggressively bc the tones were so harsh. I now use 20 vol, insulate, and let it SIT.
When hair is healthy, cuticle in tact, the cuticle acts as a veil that softens the tone resulting in a beautiful end result. With healthy hair I can allow a toner to sit for the recommended 20 minutes without stress of unwanted overtone. Every minute your toner sits is greater longevity. If hair is damaged it will grab up the toner quickly, reject warmth(creating muddy blonde), and fade quickly.
NUDGE the hair, don’t give the hair a GRUDGE✌🏼 For this client we used the @paintedhair technique, lightened with @oligopro, and toned with @love_kevin_murphy in beautiful @argyle_salon 💕
