The TRUTH about FAT BURNING claims 🔥
Often, people promote practices that lead to greater fat oxidation by saying that it leads to greater fat loss… let’s talk about the science behind this 🔬
If something causes more fat to be oxidized, it does NOT mean it will result in TOTAL BODY FAT decreasing. It just means that fat is being used as a fuel source ⛽️
In a high-fat diet, you oxidize more fat because you’re eating more fat and less carbohydrate. But it does not mean that you will actually lose more body fat 🥑
During low-intensity steady state cardio, you oxidize more fat and less glycogen than in high-intensity cardio. But then your body adapts to spare fat throughout the day, so you oxidize less fat and more carb 🏃♂️
At the end of the day, the amount of fat that is stored or gained will depend on your energy balance 🥙
Eating a high-fat diet and doing cardio in the “fat-burning zone” might lead to the utilization of body fat as fuel… but you will still store fat if you’re in an energy surplus 😳
This is all detailed in my newest book ‘Fat Loss Forever’ which you can get by clicking the link in my bio ☑️
