The key of the pose is to be able to move forward and shift the way on the hands. You should prepare your hips with some hip openers like: pigeon pose, lunges and lizard pose. Warm up your wrist and do some nice core work as well before attempting the pose.
1. Cross left ankle over right knee, sit into chair or figure four pose.
2. Inhale, lengthen your spine. Exhale, hollow your belly and fold over and around left shin. Flex left foot to hook around right tricep.
3. Place hands shoulder-width apart, elbows slightly bent.
4. Come onto right tiptoes, lean forward. Grip and lock left foot/toes in place around right tricep.
5. Chest forward, weightless right toes lift, pull heel into glute. Look further forward than you think you should to balance all the weight on your backend. *Stay here if this feels like a lot! I stayed for over 6 months*
6. Deeply engage lower belly. Push the floor away. Broaden through your shoulder blades. Slowly and with control extend right leg long, reaching through ball of foot. *extend the leg long and had a lot to do with a strong core. #yogatutorial

It often feels like learning to cultivate balance and make equal time for all the things I love while in the midst of life’s chaos is mythical. It’s like something we all strive for, yet sorta never feel like we quite have down...⁣
⁣
I’m reading “The 12 Week Year” and it’s way of defining “Life Balance” was an aha moment for me...⁣
⁣
Surprisingly, the same thing that helps yogis master challenging balance poses, is the same thing that’s helps with this life’s balance: FOCUS. But not just focus..Intentional focus. Like finding your dristi (a static spot to gaze)...⁣
⁣
It says: ”Life’s Balance is not about equal time in each area: life balance is more about intentional imbalance...Life Balance is achieved when you are purposeful about how and where you spend your time, energy and efforts. At different times in your life you will choose to focus on one area over another, and that’s perfectly fine, provided it’s INTENTIONAL. Life has different seasons, each with its own set of challenges and blessings.⁣”

So from this I gather: to have life balance, is to live a life of focused + intentional living; acknowledging, and understanding what season you’re in, and mindfully splitting your time, energy, and effort accordingly.⁣

Since three weeks Brazil's Amazon rainforest is burning at a record rate. 
This rainforest, this huge part of the earth is home to uncountable species of fauna and flora. And even more. The Amazon is often referred to as the planet's lungs, producing 20% of the oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere.
Some months ago, Notre Dame was burning. We saw a monument burning that symbolizes a huge part of European culture and history - a moment of togetherness and a monument that sticks people together.
This time it’s a catastrophe. Our earth is burning. The planet that we call home, but that offers a space to create a home. We as human beings are part of it. We are nature and we are part of this burning earth, depending on the fruits it gives to us. And now we have to see it being destroyed. But maybe this time people will realize how dependent we are from Mother Earth, and how subordinate. And that this fire is a catastrophe but so is our behavior towards Mother Earth. We cut down the (rain-)forests for our pleasant. We are exploiting nature and animals. THIS also need to be stopped. And maybe seeing this makes you think twice about your behavior. You don’t need to cut everything, but even the smallest steps have an impact.

like I do everything in slow motion, 
life seems like it’s in fast-foreword 
and the baby will be here before I 
know it! #InshAllah So I’m making 
sure to do all the inversions and 
back bending while it still feels good. 🥰

Discipline is a virtue.  I am eating two extra #plump hot dogs for lunch today.  Both are covered in chili, pickles, onions and cheese for strong bones.  One also has #kraut and spicy mustard for halitosis relief.  Both variants are very light, healthy options to fuel a lifetime of healthy decision making.  Add potato salad with #bacon for enzyme neutralization and stimulation.  Live, laugh, shit your brains out.

Le lezioni saranno guidate dalla dolcissima Simona Severini, che molti di voi già conoscono sia come praticante che come insegnante (avendo già sostituito Rosa e Margherita in varie occasioni). Per chi, invece, ancora non conosce Simona, vi raccontiamo qualcosa di lei. Simona si avvicina all’Asthanga yoga nel 1998 frequentando i corsi di John Scott a Londra. Lo yoga diventa subito un’esperienza importante e seguirà regolarmente il suo insegnante fino al 2000. Tornata in Italia, continua lo studio dello yoga con Lino Miele e Tina Pizzimenti.
In questi anni ha la fortuna di incontrare anche Sharat R. Jois nel suo primo workshop a Londra e nelle sue successive tappe europee.
Simona inizia ad insegnare nel 2007 assistendo suo fratello Gabriele Severini, certificato dal Shri K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute di Mysore, presso la sua scuola di Roma.
Nel 2018 decide di formalizzare il suo percorso conseguendo un diploma di insegnante yoga 250h. Ma, soprattutto, in questi anni continua a praticare e approfondire con vari insegnanti internazionali, quali Dena Kingsberg, Eddie Stern, David Swenson e più di recente David Robson.
Pratica presso Ashtanga Yoga Italia sin dalla sua apertura a settembre 2018.

Сегодня мы радовались как дети 👶 скатывались с горки в морскую пучину. Сын дал мне пример как нужно не бояться и радоваться и кататься, и быть открытым ко всему. Быть аккуратным, но при этом быть бесшабашным. Быть расчётливыми и при этом сорвиголовой. 
Те дни которые невозможно забыть. Те дни которые важны для нас. 
Спасибо тем кто заглянул в утренний эфир. А также спасибо ребятам которые вернулись в зал на практики. Знаю что именно вы создаёте невероятную энергетику и погружение в практику.
