I mean, I needed momentum... But I finally got the courage to try a flying crow press ✈️

Yesterday marked two weeks postpartum! I can’t believe just two weeks ago this little guy was curled up in my belly! One of my favorite things he does is kicks his little legs out of his clothing and tucks them into lotus position 😂 I had such a good pregnancy/delivery with Eli that it’s been hard not to experiment around with my yoga practice post baby! I did some light stretching and a couple inversions, my body is definitely different lol it’s strange to feel that I was so much stronger at 39 weeks pregnant than I am right now 😅 But I’m excited to work back to it! Slow and steady of course ☺️

What is yoga nidra? 
Yoga Nidra is the yogic sleep, when you rest your body and mind while you are still awake, in delta state. It is a very useful technique to anyone in today´s fast paced world. Especially helpful for those who struggle with sleep. Or for those who constantly feel exhausted. .
What to expect?
In the first part of this two hour workshop you will get an insight into energy management in everyday life and the benefits of yoga nidra.
The second part will be about experiencing yoga nidra and enjoying the benefits afterwards.

Who is the Teacher?
Reka @_rekadeak_  is a teacher of Yoga Tribe Zurich. She teaches regular weekly vinyasa yoga classes at the studio every Monday.
She added yoga nidra to her practice and toolkit in the last couple of years and did a yoga nidra teacher training with Elena Mironov from Sparkling Yoga. 
Reka has been working in the corporate world for the last 10 years. She tried out several methods of energy management how to perform the best in a fast paced environment. She also used some of these methods while working with her clients as a consultant in leadership development and change management. 
Nowadays she supports organisations and individuals to become more creative and sustainable performers through making Wellbeing as an enabler of their strategic goals. .
What to wear? 
Comfortable cloths. We will not do any demanding exercise so you can wear whatever is convenient for sitting and laying down.

In times of stress— because yes we have Yoga but we’re also adults, with lives, with responsibilities, with curveballs being thrown at us from seemingly all angles and we naturally feel stress. STOP AND BREATHE. Slowly inhale, feel your belly expand, hold your breath for a moment at the top and observe all that air in your body and then slowly exhale, feeling your belly button reach towards your spine. Take as many deep breaths as you need as you navigate this world because everything is okay. You’re in alignment. You’ll make it through. Just remember to breathe it out! 🌬

LET IT ALL GO & SEE WHAT STAYS 🙏🏼✨ // in the spirit of radical honesty this last week has been quite challenging for me and I can’t decide whether it’s due to actual circumstances or due to my attachment to how I thought this whole experience would be 😬😞 on the one hand I have had some real issues that can’t be denied (challenging emotions have come up, jet lag, new place, long days, lots of information, headaches + digestive issues) but it became clear to me last night that I’m also battling letting go of the idea/expectations I had for myself + my time here.. I thought I’d come here full of energy, with laser focus and an eagerness to learn (I am still v. eager + grateful) but this last week I have felt unfocused, drained, exhausted and unwell; and that’s frustrating to me. But I woke up today with a new idea: how about it’s all okay? Why fight it? Why not let go of all my expectations and just find acceptance? It’s okay that I don’t feel 100%. It’s okay that I am feeling challenged. It’s okay that I missed a day of training because I was sick.. it’s okay. Sometimes we create more tension by fighting what is, so whether you’re half way around the world on an adventure like me or you’re home and struggling see if you can find acceptance for whatever is unfolding, choose to work with what you’ve got and let go of the judgements and expectations.. I know it’s not easy but if we can meet ourselves with love and compassion wherever we’re at we can minimize the suffering + move forward 💗✨ #namastshay

|mindful monday|: Ready for story time?... Last Thursday I sliced the finger pad of my middle finger on a can of dog food (I’m pup sitting for the week) 🐶 It was so bad that I got 3 stitches. My first thought was: “Why me? How will this affect my yoga practice during my training?” 😫 It’s funny how the mind works, isn’t it?

Never have I ever been so aware of this part of my hand. I can’t press down evenly as so many Asanas call for. It’s been SO humbling to modify with the heel of my hand on blocks, do forearm stands instead of handstands, and not even be able to interlace my hands because of my finger brace.

The lesson here is MINDFULNESS. What’s my edge? What’s the difference between sensation & pain? Yoga is a practice of sensory play. It’s been a gift to learn about my limits & a reminder to honor them 🙏🏼 •

Because sometimes we just need to chill the eff out. If you have a bunch of blankets, two blocks, and two bolsters you too can chill the eff out. If you don’t have blankets you can even use towels 🤣 one of my favorite ways to relax and conquer the stresses of the day is to always include a bit of restorative yoga into my practice. I always appreciate it when people are vulnerable in their lives, but I have a hard time doing it myself. Both because I’ve had negative reactions to sharing what’s going on (especially on social media) and because since I was a teenager I feel like I have to take care of everything and depend on no one. ⁣🙅🏼‍♀️

So instead of going on with what I’ve been doing for over 10 years, I’m going to try and be more vulnerable. To ask for help. To say no to things so I can be more of a yes for myself. 🙏🏻⁣
